As an author
We welcome submissions from all students in the field of Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Science. We will also consider submissions from graduates who wrote their article/conducted their research as a student. If you are a student not in the field of Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary science, we are only permitted to publish a small number of articles from students outside of these fields, but you are welcome to submit an article for consideration as long as it is clinically relevant, For more information on the types of articles we consider, please see our instructions to authors: https://inspirestudentjournal.co.uk/instructions-for-authors/. If the type of article you are planning to submit is not featured in our online list, please email us as we are always open to suggestions! Please ensure that you have read our instructions to authors before submitting an article; if you article is not formatted as per our journal requirements, it may be bounced back to you prior to being sent for peer-review. When you are ready to submit, please do so via our online submission system; please see here for further details: https://inspirestudentjournal.co.uk/how-to-submit/
As a Peer-Reviewer
We are always looking for people to join our peer-review panel. You do not need any previous experience to become a peer-reviewer. Peer-reviewers will read through drafts of submissions and send us comments. Further details on how to conduct to conduct a peer-review are available here: www.inspirestudentjournal.co.uk/instructions-for-reviewers/. Usually, there are around two rounds of peer-review, so you may be asked to review a paper for a second time to ensure the author has addressed your comments adequately. If this is something you are interested in, please send us details of your degree, year and any special interests you have. Once registered as a peer-reviewer, you will be invited to join our Microsoft Teams group for peer-reviewers, where you will have the opportunity to ask any questions and you will also be informed of our peer-review targeted workshops, which will help you to develop peer-reviewing skills.
As an Editor
Our Editorial Board is changed annually. Each year, an email will be circulated around the Universities of Bristol, Cardiff, Plymouth and Exeter calling for Editors. Unfortunately, we are unable to consider students to join the Editorial Board outside of these four institutes. If you are interested in becoming an Editor in the future, we really encourage you o submit an article or join our peer review panel first, so that you get an idea of how the journal works and what is involved!
