About Inspire Student Journal

The Universities of Bristol, Cardiff, Exeter, and Plymouth have been jointly funded by the INSPIRE Scheme of The Academy of Medical Sciences to create a student research journal, the INSPIRE Student Health Sciences Research Journal. This involves students from the Medical, Dental, and Veterinary Schools at the four institutions.

The Journal includes articles written and chosen by students, from news articles and interviews to original student research reports.

Editors needed for the INSPIRE Student Journal 2025

Are you interested in research publishing? The INSPIRE Student Research Journal is a high quality student-led print and online magazine, giving med, vet and dentistry students to be published and take part in peer review. It is recruiting a team of student editors to oversee its 2025 issue, including handling papers, conducting interviews and proofreading. The job description and application form are HERE.

Student summership recipients – the INSPIRE journal needs you!

Have you received a student summership grant and are happy to share your story? The INSPIRE Student Research Journal is creating a feature article for its spring issue collating summership success stories to inform and inspire future students. Please email us with a photo and summary by 24 March 2025. You could include: why you applied; details of your research project; the benefits of the summership; any wisdom you would like to share to potential applicants.
